Project description:

Solar Energy for Rural Sub-Saharan Africa

This project provides rural households with solar energy systems to reduce their reliance on wood and kerosene for lighting and power. This initiative not only cuts down carbon emissions but also improves access to reliable electricity, enhancing quality of life and economic opportunities.

Objectives:

Aims to reduce 300,000 tons of CO₂ emissions and make 150,000 people more climate resilient by providing clean energy access.

Rationale for LIC funding:

LIC funding will support the installation of affordable solar home systems in rural communities, making renewable energy accessible where it is needed most. This reduces dependency on costly, polluting fuels and helps bridge the energy gap in these regions. This project aligns with Lincoln Crypto Token’s mission of climate action by funding projects that directly reduce emissions and support vulnerable communities. LIC holders will contribute directly to a high-impact, measurable climate solution.
